Have you discovered the Google Keyword Tool?

25 August 2010

A simple fact of business that can be detrimental to you if you don't understand it is that not everyone thinks the same way. Sure, a million people might purchase the same product but you can bet that they didn't all arrive to the conclusion the same way. Translate this to Internet keywords and you can understand why it's sometimes so difficult to market to the masses.

One of the easiest methods to use for keyword research today is the Google Adwords Keyword Tool. If you haven't discovered it yet, then you might be missing out on some vital research for your website/marketing campaign.

Why is finding the right keywords so important to your success? Well, think about how you write for a minute. Are the words you use to describe your product the same words people are using when they search for a product? The simple answer: probably not. That's where the research comes in.

Choosing Keywords Wisely for Search Engine Optimization

17 May 2010

Keywords in business can be a complete paradox. On the one hand, theyre so easy to understand that even explaining them almost seems redundant. On the other hand, though, theyre so dependent on search trends and usage that learning how to correctly use them can be a very long and drawn out process.

The basic trick to choosing keywords wisely and making them work for you is to always be relevant to your business and to leave the market alone. What that means, basically, is to use keywords that relate to your specific site and your specific product within the market rather than using the most popular search terms in the market for your product.

Example: If youre trying to sell how-to books dealing with home gardening, then your market cannot be simply home gardening. Youre dealing with too broad a topic here. Instead, you have to narrow it down and use keywords within the how-to market to ensure you earn better site placement and ultimately receive more visitors with vested interest in your product.

17 February 2010

In this day and age of instant information, no brand of media has a quicker turnaround and a larger readership than the blogosphere. Blogs are free to own and operate, apart from time, and theyve been known to turn regular Joes and Janes into famous bloggers. The trick: fresh, interesting content, regularly updated. Its the perfect way to advertise anything, and everything small business should be operating on the blogosphere for exposure.

Five Reasons Your Business should be Blogging

1: Show a real side of your business.
Blogging allows anyone to express their thoughts and opinions, but not anything will do here, of course. You wouldnt want to alienate any potential customers by posting about religious or political issues. The Beginner’s Guide to Pay Per Click Search Engines

13 October 2009

Have you thought about starting a pay-per click campaign recently? Truthfully, this is something that can be daunting, even for those with computer knowledge. If you were to go check online, right this second, looking for PPC information, you would be bombarded with pages and pages of complicated rhetoric.

Since you’re a beginner, the professional-style instruction manual is more than a tad ironic. Luckily, a beginner’s guide to PPC can be short and sweet.

First, let’s go over how these search engines work. Say you’re surfing around, looking for a business that sells how-to gardening books. You use an engine like Google, unaware of their ranking and pay system. What you’re most interested in is that top result. To you, that result is reputable - it’s on the first page of Google.
